This afternoon brought us the beginning of what will be 2 exciting weeks of conference tournament play, beginning with the Horizon League and the Big South Conference (Otherwise known as Tina Donegan's Favorite Conference).
Tina really gets obsessed with specific conferences, and teams in those conferences, and doesn't really get the concept that if UNC Asheville was a 16 seed last year and played Syracuse close (while eating a breakfast burrito at Lagasse Stadium) doesn't mean that they are any good this year!
Let's recap the Big South action today first, and how it impacted our pool, just in case Mason starts crying and Tina only has time to read half of this blog entry.
- First Team Eliminated from March Madness Goes to...Radford
- Radford and Winthrop tipped off the March Madness action today and Winthrop edged out Radford by 2 in Overtime
- UNC Asheville losing today not only meant Tina was teary eyed, it also means that the first person in our pool to lose a team is...BI
- A 8-24 Longwood team just PUNCHED UNC Asheville in the balls today for a 15 point blowout
- The Campbell Camels advanced
- In a shocking upset, Liberty blew out Coastal Carolina to hand Tim and Rabitoy an early loss!
- I really don't need to spend a lot of time on this since I didn't even realize these games were being played and they had no impact on our pool
- The most significant thing that happened in this league was Cleveland State was knocked out, which is really is good news for Tim Husted come Vegas
- So who advanced? Do you even care? Youngstown State Penguins, UIC (Go Flames!), and Green Bay (Screw Aaron Rodgers)
The attachment and link below show the current standings with everyone's picks, including the ones I entered this morning.

I miss UNC Asheville already! I also miss Lagasse breakfast burritos!
ReplyDelete1 Year ago we were betting the Syracuse -6 halftime line against UNC Asheville, now they don't even get passed the 1st round of the Big South tournament!
